Pueto Madryn y alrededores... Puerto Madryn and arounds...

Solo llevo 3 días en Puerto Madryn y ya conocí un montón de gente. Estoy contenta porque el hostel está genial y he encontrado muchas chicas que están viajando igualito que yo. Ya el Jueves cuando llegué congenié bastante bien con Kerri, chica de Liverpool y nos fuimos juntas a Trelew y Gaiman que son dos pueblecitos fundados por galeses que están por aqui cerquita. Claro, que cometimos el craso error de ir el 1º de Mayo, que es el día del Trabajador y aqui se para el mundo, casi, casi como en la hora de la siesta o el Domingo. El caso es que tuvimos la suerte de que el Museo Paleontológico de Trelewestaba abierto, reconozco que me impresionó, tienen un montón de dinosaurios, pero enteritos, formaditos... allí. Parece un museo chiquitín, sin gran cosa... menos mal que hice caso a mi guia, la de los sabios consejos y fuimos, porque habría sido un error perdérselo. El pueblo en sí me pareció bastante poca cosa, asi que enseguida nos fuimos a Gaiman, que es más gales y tiene más encanto, y, claro, no podía faltar un buen té con tarta, al más puro estilo británico. Al principio nos quería encasquetar a cada una el menú que costaba "solo" 50 pesos e incluía, una tetera entera, cones, sandwichitos y 6 pedazos de tarta. Nosotras que ibamos con el buche lleno dijimos que no-gracias. Entonces se empeñaron en que si uno para las dos, solo cuando dijimos que ni de broma y estábamos a punto de irnos nos ofrecieron poder comprar solo un pedazo de tarta para cada una. Aqui tienes que ser un artista del regateo en cada momento del día! Y ayer, ayer vi ORCAS, si, si... fui en una excursión organizada con Estefan, Veronica (argentinos) y Estefania (francesa) a la Península de Valdés. A mi me dijeron que no me molestase porque la gente de mi hostel que fue esta semana no vio nada, pero yo tenía una sensación... la verdad, es que tiene que ser increible cuando es la temporada alta y ves: ballenas francas, pingüinos, orcas, lobos y leones marinos... en todo su apogeo. Pero para no ser la temporada vimos de todo un poco, menos pingüinos y ballenas francas. Y la gran sorpresa llegó al final cuando pudimos ver a dos orcas, que están bautizadas como Mel y Sol. Sé que suena un poco cruel, pero yo las quería ver en acción, atacando a algún elefante marino, pero no hubo forma. Tendré que verlo en el Discovery Channel. Y de fotos ni hablamos, aqui todo gira entorno a cuidar al animal -cosa que me parece genial- asi que necesitas unos prismáticos para ver algo claro y, si quieres fotos, un superteleobjetivo. Asi que tendré que comprarme una postal. Por supuesto, lo que yo sentí ayer, se queda conmigo. Con foto o sin foto. Congeníamos tan bien ayer todos que hoy nos fuimos los cuatro en bici a Punta Loma, reserva de lobos marinos que está a 16kms del hostel. Ni os digo como era el caminito de lo que aqui llaman ripio, vamos sin asfaltar y con zonas de derrape al 100%. De todos modos valió la pena. Fuimos, vimos los lobos marinos (arghhhhhhhhhhh! sin palabras) y nos volvimos. El paisaje increible mires donde mires e interminable -añadiré fotos- Además, esta semana ya me encaminaré al fin del mundo (Ushuaia) y casualidades-casualidosas de esas que pasan, he conocido aqui a una chica alemana encantadora, Susanne y creo que vamos a coincidir alli. Ella va a estar un año viajando por Sudamerica y tiene un español increible. También existe una posibilidad de que en Perú me reencuentre con Estefan y Veronica (de Bs As) Qué linda que es la vida!

I have only been in Puerto Madryn for 3 days and I already met a lot of people. I´m happy because the hostel is great and I met few girls doing exactly what I´m doing -travelling on their own- On Thursday, when I arrived, I got on pretty well with Kerri, a girl from Liverpool and we went together to Trelew and Gaiman, 2 little towns founded by Welsh and that are nearby Puerto Madryn. Of course, we made the mistake of going on the 1st of May, Day of the workers here and day that everything is closed, almost as bad as "siesta" time or Sunday´s. In fact, we were lucky as the Pateleontological Museum was opened, I have to admit that I was astonished by the fact that they had so many dinousaurs, completed, not just some bones... It seemed like not a big thing from the outside, thanks god I followed the advice given in my guide and we went in, because it would´ve been a great error to miss that. The town itself -Trelew- is not a big thing, so we went almost straight away to Gaiman, that is more Welsh and with more charm, and, of course, we had tea with cake, very british. To begin with they wanted each of us to have a menu that was "only" 50 pesos, including cones, sandwiches and six pieces of cake. We just had luncha and said no. Still they insisted on us having one menu for both. When we were about to leave, they said it was fine for us to have just tea and one piece of cake each. Here yo need to haggle all the time. And yesterday, yesterday I saw Orcas, yes, yes... I went into an organised trip with Estefan and Veronica (argentineans) and Estefania (french) to La Península de Valdés. People in my hostel insisted that it wasn´t worth it a couple of days before as nobody has seen any animals (whales) for the last week, but I had a feeling and wanted to try. I have to admit that it has to be amazing when it´s the right time and you can see whales, penguins, orcas, seals, sea elephants, etc... Although it´s not the right time we still could see two orcas, called Mel and Sol by the people that takes care of the Península. It might sound a bit cruel but I wanted to see them in action, atacking any of the sea elephants, but it didn´t happen so I´ll have to see it again in the Discovery Channel. Don´t even mention taking pics as everything here is about taking care of the animals -which I approve 100%- therefore, you need to use binoculars to see anything clearly and if you want a pic you need one of this mega-big-lens for the cammera. Therefore, I will have to buy a postcard. Of course, what I felt with everything that I saw and I´m seeing will stay with me forever Even without pics taken by myself. We all got on so well yesterday that today we all rented bycicles and went to a reserve of Sea Wolves called Punta Loma, it´s 16kms away from the hostel. No need to talk about the ripio road, unpaved and with some very very slippery areas. Anyway it was worth it. We went, saw the Sea Wolves (beauuuuuuuuuutiful!!!) and came back. Incredible views all the time, doesn´t matter where you were looking to and endless -I will add pics- Also this week I will head towards The End of the World (Ushuaia) and one of this incredible casualities is that I met Susanne -german lady, very nice and with great spanish- and she´s going there too. So we might meet up there She will stay in South America for one year. There´s also the possibility of meeting up Estefano and Veronica again in Peru and do some travelling together. People, life is beautiful!
